Mother’s Day Sunday May 8, 2016, represents one of our most beloved traditions as we honor ladies who symbolize warmth, sacrifice, and nurturing love for us. Often, they may not be related, but they still hold a special place in our hearts. Please bring them with you on Sunday, May 8 so that they may worship with us and partake of the bountiful feast the men are planning for them. Men, as always, we will meet on Sunday, May 1 to plan our delicacies. This will give you time to try out that new recipe!

Nancy Shimokawa is stepping down from helping with the Worship and Communications ministries. She is still going to help out in other areas. The specific tasks in these ministries will be assumed by Sayaka, Deacon of Worship. If you feel lead to assist in these ministries areas, please see Sayaka. Thank you Nancy for all that you have done!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Annette Kawasaki and the Kawasaki family, upon the passing of her mother, Clara. Clara was also the Aunty of Renee Koyama.

Our Conference designates the last Sunday of April as Founders’ Day. We take a moment to receive a special offering (envelope enclosed) that will be used to supplement the Pension Fund to assist retired ministers or their widows in their medical needs as determined by the Holiness Shepherd’s Council. God bless you for your assistance.

Please sign the card on the back table for Sarah Ponder (Tena’s daughter) who is in Arizona for school. She misses Hawaii, so let’s cheer her up! Even signing just your name will be appreciated.

Tena talked with Betty Adams, who greatly appreciated the card the church sent her. She is doing better and is considering moving to an assisted living facility.

Spring Banquet – A heartfelt thank you and deep gratitude to all of the saints who donated their time, talent and treasure toward making our time together so special. Thank you to all the crafters, artists, artisans, picklers, bakers and special treat makers! All of your donations to the Country Store and Silent Auction raised over $1,500 to be divided among several of the church programs. Last year’s proceeds were equally divided between the Youth and Building Funds. Luke 12:34 says “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Thank you saints for having hearts for each other and God’s people.
