April 24, 2016

Mother’s Day represents one of our most beloved traditions as we honor ladies who symbolize warmth, sacrifice, and nurturing love for us. Often, they may not be related, but they still hold a special place in our hearts. Please bring them with you on Sunday, May 8 so that they may worship with us and partake of the bountiful feast the men are planning for them. Men, as always, we will meet on Sunday, May 1 to plan our delicacies. This will give you time to try out that new recipe!

2016 Small Groups – T2 – 8-week Summer Session: May 15 – July 7.
You are invited to West Oahu Christian Church’s all-church study on the book of James! All small groups will meet at WOCC.

SG1 – SUN. 9:15-10:15 AM
SG2 – TUES. 7:00-9: 00 PM
SG3 – THURS. 9:30-11:30 AM

An eight-week study on the book of James. Come and learn how to deepen your walk with 10 examples of FAITH from one of the first followers of Jesus. Requirements: Bible, notebook, pen, (and if needed, reading glasses!) Please sign up at the back of the sanctuary or contact Martha Kawai.

Our Conference designates the last Sunday of April as Founders’ Day. We take a moment to receive a special offering (envelope enclosed) that will be used to supplement the Pension Fund to assist retired ministers or their widows in their medical needs as determined by the Holiness Shepherd’s Council. God bless you for your assistance.

Please sign the card on the back table for Sarah Ponder (Tena’s daughter) who is in Arizona for school. She misses Hawaii, so let’s cheer her up! Even signing just your name will be appreciated.

Tena talked with Betty Adams, who greatly appreciated the card the church sent her. She is doing better and is considering moving to an assisted living facility.

Pastor Stan Miyamoto will be on a leave of absence through June 10, 2016. During this time, WOCC welcomes Clive Cowell as our Intentional Interim Pastor. Please feel free to contact Clive for the duration of Pastor Stan’s leave. For other ministry needs, please contact our Board Chair, Darren Nako or any of the Board of Deacons and Trustees.
